Restoration
for Weston Vintage
step-by-step

Once each pair has been assessed, they move on to re-discover a total of 150 procedures, each carried out by hand in the heart of the Weston manufacturing workshop. Five major steps for a meticulous restoration process and a shoe that looks like new!

1.

Expertise

In our stores, an expert ensures that your pair of shoes is restorable. If so, the pair is sent to our Limoges manufacture to be restored and integrated into the Weston Vintage collection.

2.

Disassembly

The shoes are completely stripped down by the craftsmen in our workshop specifically dedicated to restoration.

3.

Reshaping on the last

This is the great difference compared to having shoes resoled by your cobbler, however skilled he may be. Once the sole has been removed, the shoes are replaced on their original lasts. The leather upper thus returns to its original shape without losing the patina of age.

4.

Resoling

Thanks to the Goodyear welt, the shoes are able to be fully resoled using the same noble materials as a new pair, notably the sole leather produced by the extra long vegetable tanning technique used in the Bastin tannery.

5.

Polishing

efore joining the Weston Vintage collection, the upper is thoroughly cleaned, brushed, creamed and polished to a perfect shine. The shoes are literally as good as new and ready for their brand new life.

The collection

By offering you an opportunity to return the emblematic Westons that you no longer wear, the brand undertakes to restore them at its Limoges factory and give them a second life as part of the Weston Vintage collection.

How collection works

1.

Rendez-vous in one of the J.M. Weston stores

(excluding department stores)

2.

An expert assesses whether your iconic shoes can be repaired by our craftsmen

3.

Two options:

If they are: you will be offered a voucher worth at least € 100. Your shoes are then sent to Limoges for restoration and will soon be available for purchase as part of the Weston Vintage collection and in the Weston Vintage stores (Champs-Elysées, Saint-Honoré in Paris and Aoyama in Tokyo).

4.

If your iconic shoes cannot be repaired, you will be offered a complementary shoe polish.

The portraits

They wear their Westons every day. Walking, cycling, riding a metro, they live at their feet, taking a patina. And are (almost) always maintained. Meet the owners of the Westons you may be wearing tomorrow.
